Forums - Microsoft - Quantum Break likely delayed, coming early 2016

Welp, that ends my internal debate on if I should get an X1 before or after the WiiU. Outside of personal disappointment though, I'd say this is a good move. MS's current 'release no major exclusives for months then several at once' schedule is really silly (not literally at once, but you get my meaning). Better to space things out, especially when those titles also have to compete with major 3rd party releases.

Wasn't this originally a 2014 title?

What else is due out in 2016 on the XB1?

O.P. That's a bit of a bummer, but probably for the best. I'm of the mind that new IPs shouldn't really be launched during the holidays.

Well I don't know for sure, but this is what is expected:
Gears 4
Quantum Break
Crackdown
ScaleBound
Phantom Dust
****Kamp keeps hinting at Banjo 3

Pretty standard, nothing historic there. We dont know how good any will be, most are small sellers or niche. Crackdown is a b tier franchise, wb like allan wake will struggle to sell a million, phantom and scalebound wont break 500 k. Last gears without epic was poor, not the same seriesa now.

You already made up your mind in getting a console based on a game that could be crap and we have seen little about? Odd.

I kinda saw this coming. We hadn't seen an awful lot of this game. And MS has the smallest library of middle to heavy weight first party IP so spreading them out is wise.

This doesn't come as a surprise, given Remedy's propensity to take their sweet time, like with Alan Wake. And with no news on filming the live action portions of the game, I expected this all along.

This is good for QB if it launches in the first half of the year, a new IP would have been in danger of getting lost in the holiday AAA shuffle, like Sunset Overdrive last year.

So going by this and probably more to come, I'll be egtting an Xbox by 2016 then, that fits perfectly for me since I'll have a Wii U and PC upgrades this year and next year I can grab a cheaper XB1 by then.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

QB has been the game that has caught my eye the most out of the XB1 exclusives.  I also loved Alan Wake, so I have faith in what the developer can do.  That said I am not blindly going to make the purchase.  If the game continues to evolve to meet my expectations then it will be the game release that gets me to pull the trigger.

Yes, becuase from the looks of it, that dev was on contract work. Also there is an internal MSFT team working on it. Lasly, it is a hybrid remake/remaster.
