Forums - Gaming - Final Fantsasy 15 is CLASSIC FF

Correction: all mainline Final Fantasy games are instant classics.

The casuals seem to dislike turn based combat, and that is all there is to it. Expect many other things to be streamlined. How much of a classic Final Fantasy will XV be? As much as Mystic Quest, Legend or KH, I expect.

I think if FF ever wants to go back to turn based system it should be like the Last Remnant

No, because of armies (and the whole system effectively revolves around having strength in numbers and choosing the correct leader for each one). However, it would be nice that a segment of any new Final Fantasy game allowed an army-battle with TLR combat system added into it. Would give the game a lot of depth.

Defining what a classic Final Fantasy is it not exactly easy to do so I don't know if FFXV qualified as a classic FF game. It will be the first without a turn-based combat system, that's a departure for sure but there's so many elements that make FF games what they are that maybe in the end, it'll feel like a Final Fantasy still.

I know one thing for sure and it's that I can't wait to play it.

Soon, CoD will release as a 3rd person shooter with cover mechanics. Then Activision will wonder why it didn't sell as well. Still a shooter in a military setting though right guys?

FF signiture is to reinvent it's story, world and how it's magic works, not how you basically play the game.

Implying the 13 previous installments all had the same gameplay.

Don't worry, my remark is aimed at 11 to 14 (including MMOs in this) and I think FF12 is a great game. And yes before that, they did have the same basic gameplay.

Hmm, pie.

I don't really care. I've never been interested in FF until XV, and the battle system is why.

exactly my same reason, i really like the world they are creating with XV but what really gets to me is the combat, since i like action fast paced games and this is the closest that FF has gotten to that

I know what you mean, I'm waiting for the day they make a Dark Souls Turn Based RPG, then I'll be all over it.

10 1 2 and 3 don't have dynamic turn systems. And if you mean the battle flow aka choosing between attack/magic/items XI XIV and XV have it too
