Forums - Gaming - FF XV is a hack and slash game confirmed

"Most" of the "modern" turn based games are hilarious. Especially final fantasy games after 2000. Lol. I will wait for the guy will summon a flashy horse from sky with godawful animation AKA choreography AKA gameplay (read final fantasy XIII) while I wait. No thanks. I am okay with civilization or with persona because it suits there. But these so called "modern" turn based games turns me off.

A game that I'd never be interested in playing even if it was free? (got it with GWG last year, and Demons' Souls on PS+).

Oh yay...

Meh, you haven't even beaten Catherine yet, and you're saying "pff" to Dark Souls?

You're a disgrace and this thread should be locked inmediately!

I've got a good reason for that, the most important part of a game is gameplay...

And FF XV has plenty of it, so your complains are moot! :P

well i like Hack and Slash games, plus we already knew how the combat worked so it isnt much of a surprise.

How do you all know? OPs complains are as valid as your defense, since none of you have played the game. Neither have I. But for all I have seen so far, I think the reasons for concern are more valid. SE is oviously turning the game as mainstream and casual as posible. Loosing some, or all, of the original "magic" is highly probable and expected. IMHO.

This feels like a milestone for me. I remember finding the original Final Fantasy for the NES in the bargain bin at a drug store and absolutely loving it. Later, Final Fantasy VI became my favorite game and Final Fantasy VII prompted me to jump from Nintendo to Playstation. Final Fantasy has been a big part of my gaming life.

Now, though, I have so little interest in this game. The only Final Fantasy titles I've had less interest in were the MMOs. I doubt I will buy this. Hunter game style combat does nothing for me.

Thank you for existing, Persona.

I can understand people not being excited, but this looks nothing at all like Monster Hunter.

What a "real" Final Fantasy. So "real" that it doesn't even need its signature battle system.

What's FF signature battle system ? you mean the turn based from 1-2-3,  simple atb from 4-6, job system from 5, atb with a twist from 7-8-9, turn based from x, real time move system from xii or weird atb from XIII ?

FF signature is to reinvent itself with every game.

job system? atb? what do those things have to do with the gameplay, it's always been turn based.

Nothing against making an action rpf FF but what you're saying makes no sense. Gameplay was pretty much the same across all FF.

As long as it is better than FFXIII, I don't care.

Here's another news flash, Halo is a FPS!  People complaining its gonna get repetative are probably the same people that want turn based back where you'll do the exact same thing over and over to kill the regular enemies.
