Probably not, the game is really gonna have to impress for me to get it.

Yassss. This is Intelligent Systems we're talking about here, one of my favorite Nintendo publishers! My Marth amiibo is ready as well. Also I'm awaiting my Majora's Mask pin as well! :)
Probably, it's out the same month as Splatoon so we'll see. I haven't tried the demo yet, is it still up on the European eShop?
I gave the demo a try and didn't care for it. If I see it on a great sale someday maybe. Otherwise, nope.
Liked the demo, so chances are strong. Have to wait though because Europe

I mean how many developers add side content in their game and they don't release it as day one DLC or disc locked content, yet Nintendo has did this with a good portion of their games since the launch of Fire Emblem. Fire Emblem which had around $60 worth of DLC. Nintendo might be new to the DLC game, but they're trying their best to piss their fanbase off. Atleast everyone who wouldn't give their life to defend the Nintendo name brand, because Nintendo can do anything they want without those people becoming even mildly upset. |
They technically are $15 DLC/whatever you want to call them, but they are $15 DLC for multiple games. Each game may be very limited (costumes in MK8, 8bit Toads, etc..) so even if you don't get them, it doesn't affect gameplay. In Steam, these characters are just extras so I don't see how these disk locked characters are such a big deal..
They are basically a one time purchase for games that are supported now and for games in the future.. And these games are not exclusively Nintendo IP games so basically, amiibos are $1 DLC for 15 different games and you get a figurine as well.

But I can say that the only game I have seen them use shitty practices on is Mario Golf. Which had more than half the game locked in DLC at Launch. Other than that, I really don't think they have done bad practices. Mario Kart 8 was clearly developed after the game was finished, and very reasonable price. Pikmin was fine. The amiibo DLC does kind of suck, but as I said, Marth would not be in this game with out these figures. So, I do not feel this is a bad practice in this game. Plus, you can use these figure for skins and uses in many games. I have yet to see a game that I think Nintendo cut content out of a game for these figures. It sucks they cost $13, but your paying for a physical figure, of course it'll cost more than a normal character DLC. |
Though Mario Golf had Day 1 DLC, they were not game locked.. You had to download the DLC from the eShop.

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
Never.
For me, it's only a bad copy of Valkyria chronicles. And i can't stand the design, and the characters. And the slow gameplay.
