you answered your own question, Sega went bust. That right there speaks for itself. How many of those games were even online?

If modern consoles were as good as the Dreamcast no one would complain about paying for online.
15 years is a long ass time to hold a grudge over videogames.
Also, judging by how the Dreamcast sputtered and died in less than two years I doubt enough people were keen on the service to be mad in the first place. Hell, I didn't even know about the online service when I had one.

It was something completely different.
You got a Dreamcast for free when you signed a contract to use Sega as your internet provider for two years (it didn't exist that long).
Online multiplayer wasn't behind a paywall, only Phantasy Star Online had fees in Japan and America (Version 2), it was free in Europe.

i dont think it was that of a good console, espacially now. It lacks exclsuives, most of the games on the dreamcast you can play them on different consoles. The only exclsuives left are D2 and Shenmue 1 which are intresting to me. And its also good to play a view defentive console versions like dino crysis 1, but other than that there arent any reasons to have a dreamcast.

SegaNet was an internet provider and even though it did cost some money you could get a free Dreamcast with a 2 year contract with them. And yeah the internet is pretty cheap today, but not as cheap back then.

thats why europe got the least amount of online games, it was a lot less
There was an outcry. It's just that is was people choosing not to buy Dreamcast rather than complain about it. The market simply did its thing.

Actually this was true. Sega was your ISP. It was dialup based. It was also free for the first 30 days if I remember correctly. I remember playing PSO and NFL2K after signing up for it.
