Forums - Gaming - Have you ever played a Visual Novel?

I had my first experience with a Visual Novel when I've played the Ace Attorney and Professor Layton series on DS long time ago. I've enjoyed them a lot! Them, I tried 999 - Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, but I can't remember if I finished it.

Last year I've played Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, both the original and the sequel, Chiru. That one has no gameplay at all, but the story was awesome.

So, have you ever played a visual novel?

I have played The Walking Dead and Corpse Party, if those count. But by far my favourite is Katawa Shoujo. Such good writting and atention to detail.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Well, The Walking Dead is technically a Point-and-Click adventure, but I don't think it's very far from being a VN.

I've played games like The Walking Dead, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, but that's about it.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I played Gone Home somewhat recently. It was pretty good. I'm definitely open to the idea of playing more of them. To the Moon is one I've been eyeing.

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

Dangan ronpa is quite good.
I also tried Virtues Last Reward.

Ace Attorney, Clannad and Steins;Gate

Loved Danganronpa and Zero Escape.
Also tried XBlaze Code Embryo, that one just plain sucked.

I love a good VN, it seems like a perfect genre for my Vita.
