Forums - Gaming - Have you ever played a Visual Novel?

Yeah, Ive played 999. Enjoyed it a lot and unlocked all 7 endings. I do have Virtues Last Reward, but haven't played it yet...

Ace Attorney and Professor Layton. I loved them.
I also played The Walking Dead. I detested it with burning hate.

Only Saya no Uta.

o: I can't believe Saya no Uta is the only one you've played, consider how obscure, dark, and messed up I've heard that game is... : X

Well its a lie, Ive played VLR aswell if you count that. But yeah I played Saya no Uta on a whim, was awesome. Will probably play some others eventually like Clannad and Steins;Gate etc. when I get around to it. Just not big on gaming on my laptop

Yeah. Corpse Party, Xblaze, Danganronpa; good stuff.

We're talkin' Virtue's Last Reward, right? I think that counts ; ) I've heard about Saya no Uta myself. Not sure if I would be ready to play that, haha....

Yeah Virtues Last Reward, although I stopped after I git my first ending. And Saya no Uta literally had like 2 descisions to make in the whole game, lots of reading and very very little input but the story was totally worth my time.

Really do not like the genre.

Same, so no for the OP

Layton, Wright, and Walking Dead. Working through The Wolf Amongst Us. All excellent.

Those that complain about its lack of "gameplay" doesn't understand that there can be different types of gameplay excellent in their own merit.

Tried a few of them (layton, walking dead, ace attorney) and while I want to like them I just get bored. Have the VLR series sitting there. Im sure ill try them eventually.
