A lot of people complains about the USA here in Brazil and I really don't understand why.Of course there is some political issues of The USA that I don't agree, but every country has.

Rumours and Rumours i heard about the USA and the people of USA. Then I went to the USA in july and everything went down, It was really amazing.

Back to the topic, if soccer is so unpopular in the US, why the american's soccer teams are so rich?

Maybe because their soccer teams suck horribily, I can't stand bad teams going at it and if that's all they have then I have to completely agree on why they hate it. As for reasons why the general US sports are hated:

Football - More commercials than friken play time, ridiculously boring because of that.

Baseball - Even MORE downtime than in Football.... Playing Baseball is fun though, watching it is physically painful.

Golf - W...T...F... there's 3 seconds of game and 15 minutes of talk.... Don't get me started on how horrible of a sport Golf is.

Basketball - It's actually very popular all around, and lo and behold there's VERY few interruptions in it. See a trend here?

And just for the sake of it:
Soccer - 45 minutes of non stop play with 15 minutes in between to get your beer or poison of choice.

I also nejoy Hockey a whole lot, motly because there aren't as many interruptions.

Moral: Down time = shitty sport.

Because there are a LOT of Americans.

Think of the DS and the PSP....

The PSP still makes a lot of money and sells a lot... but compared to the DS...

Americans love sports in general.

As for soccer.  Eh, i don't watch the US teams.  If i can find a game on ESPN oversea's i'll watch it.

It was funny cause the team playing Man U adopted a fully defensive formation and the announcers were outraged for some reason... even though they had a couple chances to steal the win and only lost because they blew it in the last couple minutes.

Your answer have one thing that doesn't make sense. Here in Brazil we are 180 million and I'm pretty sure that 80 % or more loves soccer. But we've few rich soccer teams, and they aren't rich as american's soccer teams. Are you sure that soccer is that unpopular in the US?

Actually I think it is for two reason.

Relatively low scoring compared to other sports, and in the lack of true stats tracking. American sports fans are numbers people, and euro-football is not stats-centric.

I dont know but they are missing out on a really really good sport. Soccer is my favorite sport.

What other sports do americans play on a world level? that gets the all nation to watch. Like soccer in the UK, if England lose a game the entire country goes into a depression.

Maybe they should add a couple of zeros to the score and more North Americans will like it.

Yeah maybe... who really knows?  I doubt that it will ever be considered a top-tier sport in America any time soon really.  American Football is king in the States, and only gets more popular every year.
