I've only played Pokemon Y, and I enjoyed it, but I don't consider it as one of my favorite franchises. I would certainly buy a Pokemon MMO on the Wii U though, lol. It would be the definition of a system seller. It would move so many systems in Japan and NA, even EU. Don't know why Nintendo refuses to do it (well, I do know, but I don't necessarily agree with the decision).
