1 games will never change a console fate

Except for Pokemon, Gameboy sales had been declining for a few years and everybody was calling for Nintendo to release a successor and they actually were planning one then Pokemon came along and caused Gameboy to have the best sales of its entire lifespan.

U could probably even add in Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega Genesis wasn't really selling that great in America until Sonic came out and proved to be a killer app.

We don't know exactly how well Xbox would have sold without it, but I'm pretty positive the Xbox brand wouldn't be around today if Halo wasn't there to move consoles back in 2001.

Most of people buy a console for the whole library

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Yes but how do u explain specific games causing large hardware boosts? Those games must have convinced people to buy the console when previous games couldnt.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Amiibo nintendo universe game. Zelda dungeons check. Mario 3d check mario 2d check starfox check donkey king check etc

it's had a big boost in 1 week and after that they don't cause big boost anymore

It's not always a 1 week boost, for example Mario Kart 8 released and sales didn't go back down to the previous baseline for 14 weeks. Or Pokemon like I said, single handily caused the hardware to have its best year ever despite sales showing YOY decline for a few consecutive years.

System sellers/killer apps are a real thing, that's not really up for debate.

A sole game cannot change Wii U's fate. Nintendo would need to do all of those options to make a come back.

If a pokemon mmo/sandbox was announced, I'd go buy a Wii-U without thought.

Pokemon MMORPG would help the most. Mark my words.

I don't think anyone would argue that.  Although I don't know what people find interesting about Pokemon, it would sell quite well.
