Word of mouth > metacritic score by alot. It all has to do with makeing a good game first and formost though. People need to be able to see reviews/gameplay videos and go "thats what I want". |
Well, sometime there are games that even being a good game isn't enough like bayo 2 for example. A game that got good reviews but IMO failed to sales. There are a lot of factors that determine whether a game sells or not but considering bloodborne comes from a nicle series known for being too difficult for casuals, makes me think that a lot of people bought the game due to high score and hype than just being a soul fan just to know what the fuss is all about.
We still need to know the official numbers though to see if people are buying the game for curiosity or they are the same soul fan jumping to the new game again.
