More games? That's true. Most are cross-gen though. PS4 will win this year easily because most third party games will not be cross-gen. That wasn't the case in its first year.

As for personal preference. If you like Nintendo games a lot you vote Wii U, if you don't then you vote PS4. As it should be.

This year the PS4 will win though because of Uncharted 4, The Witcher 3, Batman: Arkham Knight, BloodBorne, Persona 5, Ratchet & Clank, Tearaway Unfolded, etc.

Nintendo is great, but only one company after all. One that has to support two consoles.


Going this path, it really invalidates your original point: if it's subjective, no opinion on this thread is relevant.

However, why we shouldn't count cross-gen titles? They are games and they are on PS4. Compared to PS3, you will always get the best experience with the PS4 version (better graphics, better fps, etc). It's not like if you have the two consoles (like I do) you will have any reason to get the PS3 version.



Bet with jetforcejiminy: PS4 will pass the Wii lifetime numbers.

Considering I own one console and not the other I obviously found it's library better. PlayStation plus certainly helped me get it a little sooner. though I do find the Wii U's library better for couch co-op, not having any local gaming buddies means I can hold off

Misleading list that excludes plenty of highly rated games on PS4.

PS4 had the better overall lineup. Wii U the better exclusive lineup by a great distance.

At first you excluded some ps4 games giving the impression those were the only ps4 games.  At least you should havd told there were some games missing.

WiiU wins by far, I though it had a weak first year but then ps4 makes it look good, imo, look at the quality of the titles, you can´t even compare it, almost every big game on ps4 was an overhyped dissapointing game or just one avalaible on other 4 systems.

It really depends on each one's preferences. For me, PS4 had the best lineup so far, even with the remasters.

This thread is relevant because we learn more about what drives people to buy a console.

I don't buy a new console to play last-gen games. Maybe you do and that's fine. I will not count them, you will. Opinions.

I'd say the PS4's overall library is considerably better than the WiiU's (even in the present day), while the WiiU has a better exclusive line up. Will be interesting to see if my opinion on the latter changes over the next few years.

Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor, > Entire Wii U Library.

In all honesty I would take those 2 games over my Wii U and every game I own on my Wii U.

 

That does not even mention Infamous, LBP3, TLOU, Minecraft, Destiny, and GTAV
