It's one of the reasons I'm starting to wain with regards to Xbox One and PS4. I own a PS4 and have owned an Xbox One, but after a few months, the thing is just... idk. I've always had so much excitement and joy each and every generation when I make the leap, but this time... nada. Maybe for a few months. But it's gone now.

Holy crap, UC2 compared to 8th gen games looks dated by comparison ...

No anisotropic filtering, no physically based shading, noticeably less geometry, highly pared down texture resolution, weaker material pipeline ...

In short OP, I don't agree with you one bit ...

I play on PC so no. Several 7th gen ports look better even with minimal PC enhancements.

I have to agree. Most 8th gen games don't have a distinct visual direction. Uncharted 2 has that. All those nice details don't matter at all if they get lost in the big picture.
