Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 disc eject error

My PS4 has been suffering the disc eject error a lot. Lately I've just been using it for Dying Light (digital version) so the only issue has been the ocassional beeping and the sound of it trying to eject a disc that isn't even in the console. But most of the games I already have are physical and all the ones I get in the future will be as well (they are significantly cheaper) so it's going to be a pretty big issue for me.

I've looked it up and tryed the turn off and unplug the console trick to try and fix it. It does work temporarily but it is never long before the beeping/ejecting comes back. Is there anyway to fix it more permanently or is my PS4 going to be a digital only console now?

Putting it vertical for a short time always fixed the issue for me. Have not had this issue in quite a while, my GFs PS4 used to get it quite a bit.

It is caused by the rubber piece under the PS4 getting warm and having pressure on it.

I would but I don't think you can buy a PS4 with 400 pesos.

You can always put the PS4 in cold water. They say it fixes some of it's problems.

It just needs to be recharged. Put it in a microwave I say!

Agreed. There is piece that is coming loose that is causing the problem.

If you put the PS4 in the microwave for 30-second to 1-minute it will fry that piece, causing it no longer be a problem for you.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

You can't just give him half the solution to his problem man.

First you gotta split it open with a golf club Kapi. It'll expose the inner bits for optimal charging. Don't need that pesky case blocking the waves or else it'll take way longer and still need to be charged more frequently. You want the permanent fix.

Put something underneath the PS4 to raise it a little so the eject button doesn't touch the surface. Be sure not to block the vents; Overheating problems can cause the disk eject problem.

Should have kept your Wii U Kapi
