Forums - Sony Discussion - Will Bloodborne be smeared like the Order: 1886? (Opinion piece)

Oh, if only it hadn't been proved time and time and time again that user reviews mean jack shit and that the meta is driven by anything except any sort of journalistic integrity.

I honestly can't understand how people can still put any stock into internet "articles" at this point in time.

Ummm I wasn't referring to user reviews on Meta, I was referring to Amazon user reviews, some are going to be troll reviews. hopefully those would be obvious enough for anyone to immediately dismiss them in considering the game, but it's not like meta where all the troll fanboys go to post reviews just because it's an exclusive.

So based on what I've read from people that have actually bought the game and played it the game isn't very good, sorry to say not everything Sony touches turns into gold.

That wasn't the point of my post, now was it?

Nope it did not, not at all.

That's the thing about opinions, we've all got one.

Yeah, but the thing is, most of you guys haven't even played the game yet have formed opinions about the game already. And that goes for you too.

Well user reviews and meta seem to agree that the game isn't very good, I mean so many people can't all be wrong can they? I'll pick up the game when it's in the bargain bin like I've always said.

Metacritic scores for this game don't matter. This game was always going to get poor reviews regardless of how it was going to be. I was saying this all along. The hate that this game garners is astounding. It was never trying to be a typical TPS yet its reviewed on the same terms. Its more like a Gears Of War, Resistance and Heavy Rain mashup, and a very good one at that.

Also, the "user reviews" you are saying, are probably mostly from fanboys either loving too much or mostly hating too much on this game. I can't believe people actually consider those user reviews, so many good games have terrible user reviews due to general hate on the internet.

As for that bargain bin thing, by the time its price drops that low you'll probably forget about it anyways.

Well I look at Amazon user reviews for the most part and exclusive games don't get that many negative reviews for the. Even a game like Knack that got a meh meta still has a 4.1 user review on Amazon. So I'm not sure what you're saying really applies to every game, I mean it could just be that the game is actually pretty bad.

Most of The Order: 1886's Amazon revews are from unverified purchases so they mean shit.

Also, for that matter, Halo: MCC has a lower user rating on Amazon that The Order: 1886.

No: From didn't give the impression that they resent having to include gameplay in BB.

As a shield user, yes, I'm very concerned as well, but that will make it even harder to me, not make it easier XD

But...bloodborne HAVE shields. They're just not overpowered like they was in dark souls 2.

Bloodborne will likely be a good game - therefore it will likely get good review scores.

LOL "smeared"... if by "smeared" you mean the backlash the game received for being overhyped and underdelivering with the final product, then yes, The Order was "smeared." Just as games like Watchdogs and Destiny were "smeared" before it.

Don't you know, only Sony exclusives can get negative backlash, because reviewers have it out for Sony. (This is actually the logic some people believe.)

There is a piece going around atm that exposes a culture among many critics.  They give hyped games a low score to increase website hits.  All 3 examples were sony games.  The order,  killzone and heavy rain. I believe Sony titles over all get the most attention on the Internet so they are prime targets for practices like this.

Other games get away with it like gta.  No way should gta 4 have a meta critic that high.  The game was good but the online was shit and technically a buggy piece of shit.  Critics have double standards.

what?smear campaign? da fack?

are you really gonna play dumb here?  Unless you joined in the last couple days you've seen 1000:1 ratio as far as negative to positive articles about it.

happens if you hype up a meh game... people dont like if they are told something is the best thing ever if the thing is just meh....

and im very negative today because my hero died today...

who said it was the best thing ever.  Let me tell you what it was really like pre the Order launch.  A small group of people were defending the game saying wait and see and having reasonable expectations while a LARGE number of people were hating on the game for petty reasons.  No one was hyping it up too much just trying to defend a game they would likely enjoy since its entire genre was being attacked.  Any other image people try to paint of an "overhyped" launch is just Xbox fanboys trying to rewrite history to say Playstation fans overhype things.

sure, im a xbone fanboy...  could the game just be meh like all the reviews and a lot people that played it say? or is it all smear from xbox fanboys to hurt playstation fanboys?

I agree with you with GTA 4, I also agree that reviewers do this practice. I however don't agree that it is just Sony. However Sony fans love playing victims, and about a week after the Order reviews, I am starting to get sick of it. I still think The Order is roughly where it should have been, take out high reviews and take out low reviews, you roughly get the same spot, maybe it will be a 68-69. Killzone (Ps4) was a pretty boring a dull game compared to Killzone 2. If it was in regards to killzone 2, I don't remember negative backlash outside of them change the control thing a week in.

No comment on heavy rain, I could never play such a game and think of it critically.
