I haven't used the Wii controller, so I can't speak on that. The DS4 and XB1 controller are both very solid, but still have room for small improvements.

XB1- D-pad, AA batteries, trigger resistance and bumpers.

DS4-Size and shape of the thumb-sticks, battery time.

I've never used the wiiu pro controller, so I can't say anything about that one, but for the x1 and ps4, the x1 controller is the best. But one thing seriously bothers me about both. I have my machines in the livingroom in my house, and play them from my bedroom, with the machines in my livingroom. From where I play, I'm only about 12 feet away from the consoles. Both of the controllers struggle to keep a connection. I never had that issue with the x360, or ps3. Very cheap, weak transmitters in these controllers. Very disappointed in both for this reason.

For me: PS4 > > WiiU Pro > XB1.

X1>Gamepad>DS4

Tried the X1 last summer and it felt rgeat just like the 360 gamepad I use now and then, quite liked the feel of the Wii U gamepad and once I grab a Wii U I'll be getting a pro gamepad to go with.

Tried the DS4 at a friends, didn't like how small it felt and how the thumbsticks tended to sweat, the whole bluetooth thing doesn't do anything for me when I've already got a 360 gamepad/X1 for my PC.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

For me X1> dualshock4> Wii U pro. Last gen dualshock 3 > xbox 360 controller. Analog placement in the Wii U pro felt weird though I believed it's a matter of time before getting used to it.

Wii U Pro

Not a proper comparison of primary controllers if you don't include the Wii U gamepad

I think my order is Wii U > XB1 > PS4. I've tried them all out, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm so used to the DS3 controller (which I don't find particularly comfortable to hold in itself, but...yeah) or what, but the DS4 controller felt odd to me. It may just be one of those things where I have to use it for an extensive period of time. But the Pro Controller is marvelous and the XB1 controller is just an enhanced 360 controller, can't go wrong with that.

All about preferences anyways.

My ranking

1. X1
2. Pro
3. DS4

Dualshock 4 feels awkward in my hands and the rubber on the sticks feel ridiculously cheap

PS4 > XBO > Wii U

Though i have only had a very brief play with the pro controller.
