Forums - Nintendo - Mario Party 10 Amiibo question.

For Mario Party 10, certain Super Mario Amiibos comes with their own stage in the game. ie. the Mario amiibo will unlock the Mario stage.

My question is, do I need the Super Mario amiibo series Mario to unlock that stage or can I use the Mario from the Smash amiibo series to unlock it as well?

I only ask because I find the Super Mario amiibos to look inferior than the Smash versions so I'd rather get the nicer looking one if I can.  Smash Bowser amiibo looks so much cooler (better sculted and painting) than the new Super Maro Bowser amiibo.

I believe that both versions of the same character do the same thing, but I am not 100% sure

Both versions of the amiibos should work!

It's worth noting that while you can use either amiibo, you can't save data from both games on the same amiibo. So to use Mario in MP10, you'll have to sacrifice your Smash data.

It's almost as if Nintendo wants us to buy multiple amiibos of the same character so that each amiibo is specifically used for one game >_>  lol

Speaking of impossible to buy, how about the Shulk amiibo.  That amiibo gone even before the Xenoblade 3DS version comes out!  Pretty much the amiibo function for that game is useless except for the small amount of people that have it.  Nintedo should bundle the game and amiibo together.

Also, I doubt Nintendo will will make amiibos mandatory to play their games, but if they keep in line with Mario Party 10 then amiibo function will definitely be required to play a good portion of the game.
