I hope so. People with 1080p will notice the difference. The difference is really noticeable especially with blu movies.

If you go to the store you will see TVs with a tag stamped on it saying "TRUE HD" which is just a sales pitch to say that the new 1080p HDTV are better than 720p ones which also cost a lot more. What most probably doesn't know is Cable/Direct TV doesn't support "True HD" only Blu-ray and HDdvd movies does.
24fps is good for movies, but not very good for games. Min. 30fps is required for smooth gameplay. That's what I'd be worried about.

Actually, I think Uncharted is 720p The part that worries me is the 24fps part. I hope that doesn't make it into the final version. |
Yup, it is. I just checked the back of the box to confirm it.

I predict 720p, or fake 1080p (960x1080, like ninja gaiden)
A ginormous budget can't change the limitations of the PS3 hardware.

$70 million? Holy Moley!
Wouldn't the game have to sell at least 7-10 million copies just to break even at that cost? Or at the ten dollar higher price tag would it be 3.5-5 million copies needed to break even assuming that extra ten bucks went strait into Konami's pockets?
I don't want to even think how much more has or will be spent on advertising.
P.S. Is it really necessary to attack Twestern as if he's literally taking a dump on the game or something? The Sony community here is really far too over-defensive. Take a chill pill guys.
From Gaming Age:
On the graphics-side of things, MGS4 looks identical to what I was expecting. Despite the high expectations made by previously released trailers, gameplay videos, and screenshots, I was still impressed with Kojima Productions ability to make the game look so good. Every scene is bustling with life and movement, all happily moving along without any dip in framerate (I couldn't tell if it was 30 or 60fps, but it didn't so much as hitch once.) It looks good... it has that organic appearance that can only come from a combination of awesome visuals, animation, and atmosphere, all of which are hallmarks of the Metal Gear Solid franchise.
I should probably mention this before I finish up: The video was recorded at 24fps, so you won't be able to distinguish the proper framerate based on the video. Also there are a couple of jump-cuts/glitches where I merged consecutive video files (at 8:43, 10:46, and 17:21); none of those glitches were present in the game.

I think Kojima said that Sony are "forcing" them to make the game 1080p. I don't care if it is or not, since my TV can't support 1080p.

this will be the last Metal Gear game. At least that's what they say. If it's true, it will sell a huge number of copies for years to come.
