Forums - Gaming Discussion - Need Help with a Videogame Paper

So I have a class on modern Japanese history this semester.  I can write my final paper on any subject dealing with Japan of my choosing from 1850 to the present.  I was going to write on the transition of the US console gaming market from American centric to Japanese centric from 1983-1986.  I was wondering if any of you knew of any interviews (video or text) of any Nintendo rep about that era.  It needs to be a primary source so only people that were actually there and it needs to be about bringing the Famicom to the US.  I've had some trouble finding these so any help would be appreciated.

I'm good on second hand sources and newspapers from the era I need complete interviews not put through the filter of an article writer.  Thank you though I may still use some of these :)

I was there. Basically, I had an Atari 2600. Then when I was 5, my mom bought me an NES. And that's how Japan took over the US console market.

I'll make sure to include this in my references.

This video is an interview with Howard Phillips, something like the fifth American ever emplyed by Nintendo and one of Nintendo's key employees in their bringing the Famicom to America. He also created the old Nintendo Fun Club and Nintendo Power, becoming the face of Nintendo as a company in America. He mentioned one or two things I never knew before in this video, so it might be useful.
