It's unfair to compare a linear shooter to an Rpg. Every gen has classics that can be completed pretty fast. Metal Gear solid 1, god of war 2, metal Gear solid 2, call of duty 4, metro 2033, Wolfenstein and a shit load more. The order ain't a classic by the looks of it but another game with the same amount of content could be.
I do agree about the DLC point. Just look at Evolve and all the content they left out at launch. And destiny. The map pack that came out should have been with the full game. gta 5 is a beast though and the definition of good content. Look at all the free updates that added lots to an already packed game.
