Forums - Sony - The Order 1886 Review Thread - Meta: 66

Slow start to the gen, best games being remasters.

Guess its a wait for Uncharted or HAlo to wow anyone.

polygon gave it 5.5

Eurogamer doesn't score anymore, but at least it's not in the "Avoid" pile:

The Order: 1886 isn't a disaster, nor is it a particularly good game. It's a hollow diversion, entertaining but outmoded and caught somewhere between a medium it repeatedly fumbles and one it fails to effectivelyembrace.

apparently kevin van ord finished the game in 6 hours  which is short. Just like ryse, its eye candy and entertaining enough to play but nothign ground breaking

Well seems like all the people who saw the gameplay video were right, like me, the game is just bad, no doubts now.

Eurogamer Italy submitted a score of 80 to Metacritic.

7 hours from Kotaku eh?

Well that is a scathing review.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

6.5

And I fear that will be the the average Metacritic score. I will still get the game because I love cinematic games and do not mind linear games. I hate it when games get penalised for it. But by today standards, some sort of online feature is important and if your game is only 10 hours long, you will get criticised for lack of value.

I still want to support the developers (solid game for a new IP) and will pick this game up new but when it's a little cheaper. Like Drive Club, I think The Order is a start or a great franchise to come.
