The reality is its many a critics and gamers shooter of the year. My point stands a linear,  campaign only, story driven shooter can be awesome.  Wolfenstein and metro 2033 were two of the best games I played in 2014.

You hit the nail on the head my friend.  Sadly the order would have to be multiplatform to get the praise it will likely deserve.

There's nothing uncanny about it. Other games like Titanfall, Evolve, hell even Ryse were subjected to the same hate. And it's not because of the Sony brand, either. Uncharted and LoU might have had a small amount of hate prior to launch but it's overwhelmingly positive. And Bloodborne can do no wrong right now. Maybe this game is just getting hate because it deserves it? A lot of people don't like the idea of a 5-6 hour game where 35-40% of it are cut scenes, and the only real replay value is replaying the game to hunt trinkets. And it's $60.

Funny how many of those same points didn't stop you shelling out $60 to buy Wolfenstein and describe it as amazing.   That game has lots of cutscenes and can be beaten in no time. 


pure hypocrisy right there in the bolded. loved wolfestien and ryse (which had a useless QTE after EVERY take down), but suddenly the order deserves it. hypocrisy at its finest!

I think Ready at Dawn set themselves up for hate when Dana Jan spoke on behalf of the studio that they "couldn't get around the fact they were making a game and had to include gameplay."

I agree that both games should get the same treatment. Spending $60 on a game that you can sit back, watch and get the same experience from is dumb. I rented Ryse, beat it, played some games of co-op and then I was done with it. The blind love disregarding any of the flaws either game gets is an embarassment.

I bought Wolfenstein digital because I can afford to. People like me fund this industry and as long as I can afford to install will.If I play through the order 3 times that's value enough for me. Metro redux I bought digital too. Didn't regret it one bit.
