Which is better graphically?

Only considering graphics... Wii is better (especially with the side by side comparison of the new 3DS and Wii versions of Xenoblade Chronicles) 3DS graphics are good for a Nintendo handheld, but it does not beat the Wii

Wii vs 3DS games, that would be a lot more difficult to choose..

What baffles me is that 3DS has 3 times the RAM of GC, yet in just about every game I've seen, it's textures are more PS2/Dreamcast calibre. Maybe it's just that they don't deem high res textures necessary on a small screen...

On the otherhand MH3U saw some advantages over the Wii version, especially in the shader department. 

Budgets are a big factor as well.

MH3U had better shadowing on 3DS, but the water effects were massively downgraded:
