Forums - Gaming - Issues with IGN's MM3D Score

Is IGN full of idiots?

Yes 228 67.66%

No 109 32.34%

Total:337

I agree with the op. some of there reason's are clearly bias and some of there other reasons are just stupid and don't make any sense. they'll dock a game for said reason, but praise another game for the same thing. there just not constant.

I think the review is too high actually.A 15 year old game that's on outdated hardware.

I give this thread a 7.8/10. It has too much water.
I also give the human responsible for this thread a 7.8/10, as the human body has too much water.

No, but seriously.

I miss Audrey. I used to love her Nintendo reviews because, well, she's a Nintendo fan like myself. When she said a game was good, I knew I'd like it, if she said it was bad, I knew I wouldn't. They really haven't gotten back to that yet since she left, and it's pretty much gone down hill. Now, I just watch the video review to see a quick snippet of what the game looks like, and go to Destructoid for reviews. They're not always great, but they usually get it right, and the comments section is usually great.

Audrey was actually the worst reviewer at ign to me. She scored Nintendo games higher than the average all the time and underscored any other game not made by Nintendo. This is all because she took being a Nintendo fan over actually doing her job and that's why she works at Nintendo now and left ign.

That is what is commonly known as "knowing your stuff" & "having good taste"!

No its called being biased and being a fanboy/fangirl.Liking Nintendo does not make your taste any better than anyone else's taste and Zelda is a franchise I like.

Why do you care? You were always going to buy the game anyway and you enjoy it, right? Not to mention that pretty much everyone agrees that 8.3 out of 10 is pretty good.

This is one of the sort of things that annoy me now. Not enough playing games, too many websites talking about inane rubbish surrounding gaming.

EDIT: So, apparently the score is 8.7 which makes the complaints sound even pettier.  Oh boy.

Nintendo fans think every Nintendo game  isperfect, even when it is a 15 year old port of a game that many fans were disappointed in lol.

dont worry, the way things or going pretty soon mario and zelda gets are going to get labeled mysoginistic fantasies.

Well this is just straight up flamebaiting. But I'll bite.

How is the 3DS outdated? It's good hardware for the cost not to mention there are plenty of great games for the system. Want to compare it to the Vita? Guess what? No one has ever heard of the Vita and it doesn't have a plethora of good games. Which is why no one bought it.

@OP

I stopped reading IGN in 2004. Get with the times man.

Is that really necessary? He said nothing about the Vita and you go ahead and ask him if he wants to compare it and just bash the hell out of it.

Well I was not comparing it to the Vita as I had both, but traded in the 3DS,because it was too outdated. No flamebaiting and I agree about the 3DS having more games, but better? No,that is your opinion as the 3DS has nothing as good as Gravity Rush,Soul Sacrifice or Freedom Wars in terms of game design and quality. The 3DS has outdated user interface and OS,these are facts.I was usprised that I could not download in the background when I got the Zelda bundle .I was like what year is it? LOL!Then the lack of a second analog really limited the way games could be designed and made it feel like early 3D consoles.Another thing was how cheap the games felt due to the engine they were using.None of those games felt any better than DS games.Lastly , the 3D effect was really cheap and added nothing to the experience.I am not a huge handheld gamer, but I still got my Vita for the tech.People did buy the Vita, which is why it is above the WiiU.

This thread is not about 3DS vs. Vita, so lay off the comparisons. Stick to the subject.

This is the first and last warning.

It got reduced to 8.7 from 9.9 because games have significantly progressed in the last 15 years and compared to games these days MM isn't that revolutionary or as special as it once was. Serously it isn't that difficult to work out why it got a 1.2 score reduction.
