I prefer the linear style of Radiant Dawn for example, I'm not a big fan of the 'open map' like in Awakening.
My vote goes to Radiant Dawn, though that is mostly 'nostalgia' because it was the first FE game I ever played.

I'm playing my second Fire Emblem right now, the GBA game, with Awakening being the first...
Fire Emblem GBA is definitely superior to me, it's more challenging and thougher than the 3DS game. On a side note, I prefer the GBA's game characters.
What made Awakening successful, I'm starting to think, it's the change of style, from European to Japanese, the Waifu simulator feature and its accessability: it's very easy and I actually disliked that.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Anyway, Awakening saved the series, so it actually deserves a lot of recognition.

Having only played Awakening, and the fact that Awakening has Cordelia, Lucina, and Tiki in it, I have to go with Awakening. 200 Hours in and I still love it.

But 7 has Lyndis, 6 has Roy and 10 has Ike/Micaiah.
