Strictly speaking about the environments, I think in a broad sense the environments can be considered 'fantasy', but I'd rather not continue this debate further. You can keep on debating on this, but I would rather end it here.

Eeh... lets not get ahead of ourselves. CD project red has yet to prove they can make a good open world and their combat is especially weak when it comes to the swordplay (its only autoattacks unless you talent into the 1 attack he has). They seem to be solving the problem by making the magic more readilybavailable, but still... Monolith soft has proved before they can make a good open world, and CD not yet. Its not like Bethesda where we would know what to expect.

 

I woukd say Xeno X has a pretty good chance. Higher than the Witcher 3.

well they already said that they would work on combat for this game. And that has nothing to do with the open world anyways? why did you bring it up lol. And xeno has the handicap of working with weaker hardware, what ive seen of witcher 3 is leaps and bounds better than witcher 2, and im biased towards witcher 3 becuase im ultra hyped for it :p

Although I am really looking forward to the game. I have a feeling the world we feel very empty. I wonder how fast you will be able to traverse it in the mech suit.

Personally, I don't see this as much of a handicap; Xenoblade 1 was able to pull off a breathtaking world even on the ageing Wii hardware. Sure, X isn't going to look as sharp or as polished as Witcher 3, but its scale and design don't seem to be gimped at all by horsepower limitations.

it has only 5 areas.
from what i see, seems that xenoblade has more diversity...

It has five continents. Each continent has a variety of unique landscapes, cities and landmarks.

Well, good combat is part of a good open world i would think, since its the way you interact with it besides conversation. But, i can see your point of view.

I am totally hyped for Witcher 3 aswell, but i know that Xeno X is going to be a good open world with lots to explore and lots of rewarding that exploration. The witcher has been mostly a linear game, so i dont know how well the experience will feel. Might very well be very good, or it might not feel very rewarding at all. Its because i dont know that i cant say with certainty that it will be better.
