I didn't realise the Wii U had homebrew to support a fan translation.

It doesn't... yet.

That is some serious dedication to him. Kudos.

I really hope the game will be localized to western territories, i also hope that shadow of the eternals(development has started over again at Quantum Entanglement Entertainment's according to a report in october 2014) is still scheduled for wii u

Sigh. If the movie comes and goes without release then they should go ahead with this translation. If the people who want to play this game buy the jap version and then use a fan translation it could hurt potential western sales causing Nintendo to rethink even releasing fatal frame games outside japan.

At this point Nintendo has given no sign that they're even considering releasing it in the West.

the remake of 2 came west. its a niche series and the movie might give it some small exposure to a wider audience so it would be stupid for nintendo to release it until then.

Doesn't matter cause of Nintendo's stupid region locking policies.

That will be circumvented. Hackers have already made some inroads into Wii U, they'll crack the region lock eventually, like they did with Wii.

Haha the Wii was such a joke though. Even somebody as stupid as me could make the Wii my bitch and do whatever I told it too =P

Nintendo do a lot of stupid things these days, though.

Like I said earlier, there has been some progress made towards breaking into Wii U. They've done MK8 mods.

haha cant't deny that. game may never get released outside japan which would be damm stupid considering the wii u needs titles. but at the moment there is a somewhat logical reason as to why they might be waiting

They said that 6 months after launch and outside of managing to make a PC stream to the gamepad I haven't heard anything. Although it would be nice to break region lock I have to believe in itagaki and hope its coming to the west soon. If not its the greatest crime the suits and Nintendo have ever done.

They've broken into MK8, though to their credit the guys behind it apparently aren't saying how to avoid ruining the game's online:

Looks like it was a exploit in a old firmware that was patched. With the system they have now, I doubt it will be so easy to hack as the Wii. I think our best shot will be a western localization.
