Well, you can already pre-load it in Japan.
I think it's finished and gets a day-1-patch fix bugs.

But that final polish was over a month ago. The wording used made it sound like they already finished the debugging, and he was just playing the game one more time to make sure. A once over.
The wording literally said, "When Takahashi playtested the game recently for a final check, he clocked in at over 300 hours." Final check. You don't "final check" a game that hasn't finished being debugged, and it doesn't take 4 months to put the final polish on a game that finished.
Because running around in circles for 300h is not enough gameplay to impress the reviewers.
They need to put some more quests in there to shake it up alittle.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Have you felt that warm, comforting feeling as a result of knowing a studio is working hard at finishing a game you're anticipating, and isn't half-assing it?
That's a good feeling.
Don't forget that copies must be produced and games are released at certain times to avoid or match competition.
Maybe the game is still in development? He played 300 hours of a not finished version of the game. They could be adding sidequests, weapon, materials and that kind of stuff.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

For four months? It doesn't take that long.
Play test time that the developer put on the game. Game is not finished.
