Please don't do co-op!

But other than that, it looks good. I kind of don't want to hear much more about it actually. I played Persona 4 Golden not really knowing what to expect and was completely blown away, I'd love that same surprise

Haha same here. All I knew about Persona was that it was a JRPG meets Japanese High School... on that premise alone I bought a Vita to play, best descision ever =D

Trying to avoid as much as I can going in to this one, havent even read half the OP =P

This is so hyping, the part about some dungeons not being randomly generated is exciting and I wonder what changes to the battle system will make it more "enjoyable".

I guess the prison in my avatar is just a "mental prison" :P

Arsene Lupin? Why would he be the first persona? Is the main character a thief?

No...................................

Unrelated: did you see the second trailer?

Huh I havent played 3 but I noticed nothing of the sorts in 4 =P

I was talking about Persona 1 and 2.

First time I saw the trailer thought the masked mc was Philemon in the very beginning.

Well that "mental prison" part is the most that interests me... Maybe he has a multiple personality disorder? Like Mike in the last Total Drama series, in his multiple personalities he had a evil one which was imprisoned away, but there was a moment when he broked free, and the main personality was the one which became locked away. Maybe we could be seeing something similar?

COMG guide to points: 1 point = Raging. 2 points = Beasting. 3 points = Tearing it up. 4 points = Berzerk. 7 points = Rampage. 12 points = Burst. 15 points = god mode. 20+ points = DIVIDING BY ZERO!!! 40+ points = Youkai (originally Pokemon).

-1 = Negabeasting. -5= NegaRampage. -10 = NegaBurst

Any chance Philemon will come back into the series? I always liked the meta-plot of Philemon vs. Nyarlathotep that the series set up in the first two games. It was the Persona version of Lucifer vs. YHWH (from SMT), with a unique philosophical message.

Huh I havent played 3 but I noticed nothing of the sorts in 4 =P

Philemon is never explicitly in 3 and 4 but he Igor's Boss and is represented by a blue butterfly.

Am I the only one who didn't mind randomly generated dungeons? Sure they might not be as necessary nowadays, but on a PS2 back when Atlus was smaller, still is kind of small, it was a great way to convey the enormity of Tartarus. Not controlling your team mates directly, added to the visceral and dangerous nature of the fights, and made strateg more dynamic.
Plus being in the dungeon for to long made you tired, so you never spent forever in the night hour like p3p and p4.
ut hey, I'm the minority, I'll just be happy if they appeal to the fans rather than the masses, but "selling out" isn't Atlus's modus operandi.

Personally I don't mind randomly generated dungeons so I'd still be hyped for P5 if the dungeons were the same as in previous games but I think it's exciting to see what they will do with the non randomly generated elements of the dungeons in this game and they said there will still be randomly generated elements here, anyway, so it's not like they're changing it completely.

btw, awesome sig.

Really, I'm just worried, they'll do the modern things with linear corridors and short campaign time

http://www.timetogame.ca/console/playstation-2/game/shin-megami-tensei-persona-3-fes/

P3 has an average of around 65-90 hrs with top tier speedruns clocking in at barely sub 20 and the world record at 15 hours (I don't believe that)

and P4 can easily go upwards of 100+.

I don't need no multiplayer in my Persona, just 100 hr+ playtime.

edit: thx

Wut? they never said that lol, you're talking like if they're completely selling-out and making it like a military shooter...
