Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best alternative to cable tv?

The sites others have said. I'm hoping that Playstation Vue is well priced and I'll probably grab that.

Around the Network

A bit off-topic, but I think it's a bit strange that YouTube don't have their own "TV-network". Like here in China all the big online video websites like iQIYI, YouKu, Tudou etc. have their own reporters and show their own news. I think YouTube could be very successful as so many people visit that website from all over the world. This is mostly how I watch TV, and sometimes normal TV as well but only the "freebie" channels. :)

On topic, I don't know.

I personally go with netflix, crunchyroll (anime) and I use redbox for kinda new movies. Crunchyroll doesn't cost anything if you're fine with commercials. It's really cheap and I have plenty to watch with all that and with video games. You could afford a new game or two every month with how much you would save.

I like that I don't have to deal with all the damn commercials. You realize how bad the commercials are after you cut the cord and switch over.

I use Netflix and Hulu for my TV needs, then iTunes if nether have it. It's still kinda pricey but if you absolutely can't miss certain shows and want to watch legally it's the way to go.

While I don't condone non legal ways to stream the shows there are ways that others have mentioned

Netflix + VPN/proxy server

I would give you a site which streams TV shows a couple of hours after they come out on TV for free but I don't think I am allowed to do that so instead, I will give u that one

I'm intrigued...

I use kissanime.net to watch anime show and movies in HD on PC and mobile devices. In fact I used the site to watch The Tale of the Princess Kaguya last week using my Wii U. So awesome the internet browser supports HTML 5!

And yes, I'm a horrible Studio Ghibli fan for watching their movies online for free :(

download and install popcorn time. that will cover all your TV shows, anime's and movie needs. Even if you want to just catch up on stuff that you missed years ago. With an app like that in existence, I honestly don't know why any sane thinking person will still be paying for TV.

Then for live sports, check out firstrowsports.com. If there is a live sport on the planet, you can watch it there.

OMG I just downloaded popcorn time and am watching Big Hero 6 now! Thank you so much!
