Super Mario World can be beaten in under 20 minutes (not including the credits warp), hell, you can beat Demon Souls in under an hour, if you know what you're doing. Never understood looking at a game this way. But to each their own I guess.

HAha! People are so interested in this game's playtime it's hilarious. I'm thoroughly enjoying the GAF thread.

I've been reading playtimes which have still been all over the place. Seems like the only way we'll know for sure is with reviews and, indeed, playing it ourselves.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Bah. . If you do most games on the hardest, or at least hard mode the first time around it always adds play time. In most cases, playing on normal is an easy gaming experience that is beaten fast.

Yeah people should also play blindfolded with an arm tied behind the back because it adds play time.

Good and experienced players always play at hard, since the first playthrough.  It took 22 hours for me to finish TLOU at hard, but if you play at easy and go very fast, skipping everything, without exploring, basicly doing nothing apart from running and killing just to win the 'Dumbest Record'=I can finish it in less than 12 hours, it will take a lot less, as I said.

Of course everybody equipped with a brain will never play a game blindfolded with an arm tied behind the back to add play time.

But it's true the opposite : playing at easy skipping everything and running fast just to finish the game as quick as possible just show that you are killing the game experience; take your time, find a good strategy, explore the game, take your time and enjoy the game; no need to get yourself blindfolded.

Nice Easter egg:

that's awesome

Saw a youtuber let's played it in under 6 hours, no rushing. 1.5-2 hours cut scenes

Pretty weak for a single player only game

This game duration debate is simply becoming too disguisting. If the only metric of game's quality is its length, than we are in serious trouble.

I wonder when this kind of mentality will move over to the movies. "So, a 85 minute movie. It must suck. I will pay $15 for a theater ticket only if the movie is over 125 minutes long!"
"And the Oscar goes to.... Random movie Z - it is 3 hours and 22 minutes long, the longest this year!"
