TBH TP is far worse than OOT.

And I dont think that a game that consists of 90% the same world as another game can be "better" than OOT.

I dont like the rental system at all because it serves no purpose when you can also buy the items or well buying serves no purpose when you dont die (I didnt )It removes the "treasure hunting/reward" aspect from the dungeons. All that is left is work you HAVE TO do to progress. The items were a reward for doing this.

Give me additional stuff to buy that helps me or let me buy a house like in animal crossing or whatever. But donjt force me to buy weapons. Much like SS this is just some arbitrary random purpose answer to the"what the hell are rupees supposed to do in this game? "-question.

TP had that nonsensical rupee eating armor. SS had annoying repairs and ALBW has that stupid rental system.

The thing that is good about ALBW is the "dungeons in any order"-mechanic.

Zelda 1 also allowed you to enter dungeons in any order but still rewarded you with items for going into those dungeons.

No, TP is far better than OoT.
OoT is the most boring overworld I've ever seen in a game. And the artstyle and combat is downright terrible. Same goes for the bosses.

-TP relies way to much on nostalgia. One of the nostalgia "parts" is semi useless (Epona). TP tries to much to be OOT2/fanservice. Even shiek was planned as a character once...
-Huge world with nothing to do there its just empty. Incredibly soulless. (at least OOT is not just big for the sake of being big)
-Also not even holes in the ground to be found in this empty overworld.
-Game teases you with great character design and stories about an ancient sky race just to show you nude chicken people.
-Probably only Zelda game to ever look worse than its predecessor.
-Boring and repetitive (twilight) music
-Forced (way to long) Wolf gameplay and after you can switch you never use it other than "run faster" or when neccesarry. You also cannot "upgrade" the wolf form its limited to its initial possibilities/skills. = wasted potential since no reward for actually using it other than running.
-The games pacing is bad
-Annoying bugs (not just bugs that are there you can ignore). Savegame bug/ "You found a rupee its worth X rupees" everytimne you start the game. Translation mistakes in some versions.
-pointless red armor that consumes rupees so you have some arbitrary random "solution" for the "what the hell are ruppes supposed to do in this game" question.

etc etc-

The game has amazing stuff like its interesting (yet flawed background) story. The "old" link teaching you new moves. Dungeons etc. Its really amazing end fight etc. but it completely lacked polish. Its still much better than 99% of other games out there but its one of the worst Zelda games imo.

To answer OPs question. I think Majora's Mask 3D will sell better.
- reason being bigger audience by now.
- nostalgia = fans wanting to reexperience it again.
- even people that never played it at least probably head of it by now (after roughly 15 years) so more people will try to give the game a chance.

ALBW will sell better. So far, NO remake has ever out sold the original, and what did MM sell on N64? 2m? No more than 3m I think. Therefore it's only logical to conclude that ALBW will sell more - that game will hit 3m sooner or later. Don't think that internet hype amongst Zelda fans will translate into massive sales for MM3D

3.36 million according to VGChartz for MM on the N64.

I do see what you're saying about a remake not outselling an original, but if it was going to happen it would be here. Install base is a lot larger and there is a lot of hype coming from this, especially with the preorders.

That being said I'm not saying you're wrong, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it doesn't outsell it :) , I just think if any Zelda remake can it will be this one.

Can zelda MM 3D version sell more than ALBW?

According vgchartz, ALBW have sold 2.4M.

MM is being very hyped, and it is skyrocketing on pre-order chartz.

So, what do you think?

According to Nintendo's report last March, ALBW had 2.51 million sold then. I would think it must be close on 3 million now after the holidays if it's not more?

It will be interesting to see their report for this March 31st!

Majora´s mask it is launching in a dry period on a larger install base ~nostalgica and it being a desired remake.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

OoT relies solely on nostalgia. If TP released as the first 3D Zelda people would love it, including you. At least you don't have to walk across Hyrule field in half of the game before you get Epona like in OoT.

The fact is TP is a much better OoT than OoT ever will be. If OoT released after TP almost everyone would consider it a downgrade. And I'm not talking about graphics.

OoT is just incredibly bland. In TP you can snowboard!

OoT sold 7.6m on N64 and 3.6m 3DS, that's roughly half the copies for THE best game EVER. Think a somewhat quirky sequal to that will fare any better? I think not. MM have always been a favorite amongst the Zelda hardcore, but that's a pretty small group of people. I say the remake will never ever reach 3m in sales, and might end up just over a little more than 2m. It will never outsell ALBW

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Really? What's so amazing about TP overworld? As far as I'm concerned, it is the most criticized thing in the game (said to be bland and empty). Also, when you talk about games of the 90's you have to think at what was possible at the time and what they achieved. Of course games get more refined and bigger as time goes by.

So, honest question: have you played these games when they were released? Cause it makes a hell of a difference.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

TP dungeons are linear and easier, boss battle are mechanic and easy, enemies don't hurt, overworld was empty and it tooks more to travel between areas than in OoT, there's no magic bar, no magic items, no fairy fountains, less useful items.

TP is a dumbed downgraded version of OoT that relies in OoT nostalgia.

Thank god, magic bar is the worst thing ever in a Zelda game, especially if it doesn't automatically refill.

OoT is ten times emptier than OoT. Why excuse OoT for it? I never died to a boss in OoT, I did fell asleep during the tennis bout with Ganon in OoT. I hope that convention disapears from future Zelda games, it's so bland.
