But can the Wii U read dual layers?

It clearly can't, otherwise this article wouldn't exist.

You need better interpretation skills. they may simply prefer two discs instead of two layers.

Why couldn't they just use the dual layered disc if it were supposedly available? The Wii U's disc read is faster than the PS3's, and that console didn't have trouble playing games that used 50GB discs. There's virtually no reason for Wii U, a more powerful console, to have to resort to using two separate proprietary Blu-Ray discs instead of a single dual layered disc unless that option isn't available because it doesn't exist.

Well, they just confirmed today that the game is just over 22GB, so that's the end of that debate.

OMG!!!! 4 player raids confirmed, and 32 player conect to the same world (same server) that can share items and information!!! plus usb keyboard confirmed for fast chat (or gamepad keyboard) AWESOME!!!!!!

34 years playing games.

I'm still skeptical though...

why? PS3/PS4/X1 uses blu-ray disks as well. And nobody has doubts that they can run 50GB disks

Wii U isn't using Blu-Rays. It uses a similar proprietary disc.

Makes you LOL at Wii U's storage capacity.

This will probably trigger a lot of people to finally buy an SD card or HDD for their console.

not really.

one could argue the 32gb has more value than the other twos 500gb simple becaue you are not forced to install GBs to the system. It is all perspective to what the system is designed to do.

You can delete older game install on PS4 to clear up space. The only thing that will happen is that the next time you try to use your old game it will need 1 or 2 minutes to install. And it brings the advantage of blazing fast loading times.

Star Ocean the last hope on Xbox360.

There was a Star Ocean on Xbox 360? Weird....

Mass Effect 3 as well.

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

So the real limitation are previous Wii U owners with the 8GB version. Wow.

I bought that digital, so I wouldn't have known that.
