I usually make it a male avatar if the story happens to involve the character like in Awakening, since I just like playing the game and seeing life revolve around me. If it doesn't really matter, like in Pokemon, I'm fine with either.

Haha, the male trainer does look sometimes, but I thought he was fine in X/Y and X/Y2. His new look in Pokemon Omega Ruby is better.

I choose female usually because I admire women that kick butt and take names.

That`s fair enough. Would you be fine with it if your made character didn`t take on a main role in the game, but sort of sat on the side lines?

Usually my own, but I sometimes do the other genre just to change it up a bit!
I don't mind either way.

I prefer playing as a female.

I near always choose a female option.

When there are customization options, I prefer to make the character as much like myself as possible, so I choose male most of the time.

I do choose female characters sometimes when doing a second playthrough of a game like Pokémon though.
