Forums - Sales - Is It Safe To say That X1 is Winning America?

I don't think it's safe to say anything until January and February NPD. January will be somewhat skewed by Xb one's temporary price increase. So Feb will be the month when the playing field is price stable and we'll be able to get a proper picture of non-holiday demand at current pricing.

But based on sales performance last year when PS4 and Xb one were the same price I think it's a long way from safe to say that Xb one is winning America, if by that you mean it will eventually achieve a higher LTD than PS4 and PS4 will never take back the LTD lead. That is still a big maybe.

I doubt it, especially with the ps4's upcoming line up for the year and potential price cut.

299 Xbox one without games....... If it stays behind ps4 for a couple months

On Amazon PS4 is #9 while Xbox One is #19 for January. Amazon has proven to be more reliable than VGC this gen...so no.

It's the second week of January and X1 is still outselling the PS4 in the US without a price cut, something many believed wouldn't continue after the Holidays. Is it safe to say that X1 has reclaimed the US market and will continue to win going forward?

No, I'm 110% VGC tracking is just wrong.

I doubt the X1 is really outselling the PS4 but it would be pretty hilarious if it won the January NPD after some of the talk on here. Check out either the Nov or Dec NPD thread on VizionEck, pretty hilarious.

It will be hilarious when the ps4 wins another npd and the natural order is restored.  Funny because a lot of people have been backing up vgchartz's latest numbers as if they are Fact.

It is not safe to say, but it is probable. Other than the short jump to $399 that wasn't even implemented by some retailers, XOne has a lot of momentum from the holidays, as it gave Americans a chance to recommend the console to their friends. Also, in the past few weeks I see it advertised so much tied to Superbowl and the NFL.

January NPD will be a close battle, but it is possible that XOne will win, alrhough by a smaller margin than previous months.

It's hard to say since allot of those sales were leftover discount stock. Many places were still selling the Xbox One's at the discounted price between when the price went back up and dropped again so it's hard to say.

It will be interesting to see what impact games like the Order 1886 and Bloodborne have upon their release and if any word on a PS4 price drop may be on the horizon.
