Surprisingly good discussion here. Disappointing to see over 60 hateful individuals in the poll. I'm in the "we can't have kids so it's a no go" camp. Having kids biologically is important to a lot of people. It's a strong drive.

I think that as technology advances and society becomes more tolerant of different people, transexuals will be able to undergo complete transformations, looking, sounding, and acting indistinguishable from natural born members of their chosen sex, even able to reproduce the same. When that day comes, I would date a transexual female post op, if she wanted to have kids, and of course met all the physical and mental standards of attraction I have.

These threads are always interesting, Wright. Don't stop doing them.

No. I'm fine with people doing whatever they want, so long as it doesn't hurt people, but I simply don't get why people do it.  I mean, I get crossdressing, I get effeminate guys and butch girls, but I don't get the need to actually manipulate your body for it. At the risk of being insensitive, I find it kind of ickie. Again, if it makes you happy, by all means, do it, but I can't see myself ever dating a transexual person.

I would as long is she is post-op and was feminine. Sorry I do not do penis so could not fathom that idea.

I got another question. if the tranny did not tell you what she was and you messed around with her and she gave you pleasure(hand job or BJ) and you found out later what she was would that make you gay

There are strong religious, spritual and traditional reasons. Many religious folk do it for good old-fashioned procreation. Some people feel that the child is like the merging of spririts/entities of the romantic couple. And some just do it becuase it's the norm.

People are cloning chickens today. The idea of spirituality running rampant is actually decreasing as science furthers itself. Humanity is finding out that life is fluid rather than fixed and inflexible. I would love to see what the religious texts of any major religion has to say about hermaphrodites.

Sometimes naturalistic ethics are adhered to independently of religion though. For example, Someone could believe that living things should not be manipulated on the premise that we should "accept people for who they are". It doesn't need to have anything to do with religion. And people can still believe in souls/ spirits witout really ascribing to any doctrine.

It's a simple question for the people of VGChartz.

Would you date someone you like or you find interesting knowing he/she wasn't originally born with his/her gender?

This is for everyone; whether homosexual, heterosexual or bisexual; would you? The only fact you know for certain is that he/she is transsexual. Pre-op? Post-op? From male to female? From female to male?

Wight when I saw this I LOLed in RL... You love to bring the elephant in the room out to walk don't you? Ha...

As for me, I have to say Transexuals and Transgenders are a no-no for me. I guess I am old fashioned in my ways (I can't get over the fact you were first a man before all your operations. I guess it's a psychological thing). Let alone getting intimate with one pre-op.

That being said I have no problems with them. They are people just like Ka-pi96 said, so treating them differently just because they choose a different lifestyle than oneself is straight descrimination.

There's also a WAY DEEPER belief I have, but I feel I should keep it to myself (fearing people will jump to conculsions rather than thinking analytically).

Funny this thread also reminds me of the Movie Dog Day Afternoon (for obvious reasons). Great flick... This is just a good thread all around!

And honestly, if I was somehow dumb enough to date one without noticing, I would be fairly pissed, considering that's dishonest, IE lying about who/what the are. If that's what they want to do, do it. But to try to date a straight male posing as a woman, or "having gotten a sex change".....yeah, that's dishonest. You should be up front about that shit.

Pretty much this.

Also I'm straight, so do as much surgery as you like, but that doesn't make you a woman. And if a woman chooses to change gender, then I wouldn't find her attractive, since she would try to look manlier (penis included or not). Thus answer to this question would still be no.

This seems quite fitting:

Of course not. I'm just not into that kind of stuff!

So you think transsexual people are "stuff"?

I wasn't trying to be an asshole towards transexuals!

never.

neither me nor my husband would actually care.
if you like someone, then you like someone, does their gender really matter that much? not really, does a gender they used to be matter either? if anything i would say it matters even less.
