I mean I have a Wii too and I also played a game against the Devil Rays with the Rockies (embarrassing loss, but I beat the Yankees later).

I just have to say that the Rockies rock! I hope they can do as well this season as they did last season (except for the whole "losing the world series" part).

As for which game I would rather play...I'd want The Show, but I don't have a PS3, and I don't want to settle for Power Pros. Power Pros may be a great game, but there's something about The Show '08 that just looks better to me.

EDIT: agh... I was beaten to it

it should sell well on the ps family

I'm playing MLB 08 The Show in PSP. now, it's no graphical powerhouse, but wow, is it fun or what? My character is still in the AAA after 1 year. *sighs*.

Although I'm not complaining with my 2.34 ERA with 5-2 record. :)

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

How is playing baseball game on the PSP? I've found most handheld sports games to be pretty bad.

Actually, surprsingly addictive. I'm playing "Road to the Show" mode where you play only 1 player you created, so my playing experience is limited to pitching and very very few at bat (no fielding, no baserunning). But it's pretty awesome and HARD.

Gameplay pretty similiar to MLB 07, so unless you are a die-hard fan, and you MUST get all the roster changes, stick with your 07 version. Also, there's a very good manager mode I have yet to try.

Yea, I was really rooting for the Rockies last season, but I think the week of rest threw them off. I went to Denver a about two weeks afterwards, and seeing those "NL Champions: Rockies!" banners still posted up on 16th street was kinda sad. I like the stadium, though.

As far as the game; I have this friend who plays a lot of sports games. He's a Madden fan and all, but when I took The Show he was pretty shocked at how great it is. It is seriously a sports game worthy of this generation of high-powered consoles. If only the AI wasn't so hard to beat.

I'm loving Road to the Show. This game is so good that my wifes friends husband sold his 360 for a PS3 and this game. I was totally surprised at this event. He didn't play it at my house nor did I ever try to persuade him to get a PS3.

He sold his pro, gh3, cod4, nba 2k7, and TW 08 for $300!!! If I had the money that second and didn't fear a long ride in the doghouse...I would have bought that up.

So what do you win if your prefered console sells more than another?

The best video baseball game is Major League Baseball for the Intellivision.
It made the Electronic Games Video Games Hall of Fame.

Case closed!

Actually, it was revolutionary back in the day. Nine full innings. On screen scoreboard. Control of each player. (I had to link to the old site on this one)

The updated version (released by Intellivision Inc. as World Championship Baseball but really Major League All-Star Baseball) added fly balls and one-player vs. the computer games.

There was a version for the Entertainment Computer System (computer-lite-like add-on) that included split screen cameras and was based on actual player stats. The same programmers who did MLB World Series Baseball later did Earl Weaver Baseball (PC) and Tony LaRussa Baseball (consoles).

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

There's a pretty major break through in this game, too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but The Show 08 may be the first sports or baseball game where you can save between your games. It's boggling to see how long it took for devs to say, "Hey, maybe they'd like to save a game between the long nine inning games."

Anyway, I haven't seen saving between games in any other sports games. Might be just me, though.
