I was initially intrigued by this game and I love the art style, but something is just not sitting right with me about this game. I love space combat sims (X-Wing series and Freespace), but this doesn't seem to really be about that. I dunno. I am waiting to see and read reviews about this game before getting it.

I'm more interested on how the game works with online, does this play like dark souls or more like an MMO or can it be played offline. Not sure if it was mentioned before.

Game is in danger of being forgotten. Still on the fence myself.

Yeah like wildcard said, still waiting for reviews or atleast a story plot trailer.

If the game is relatively cheap and it offers vast and interesting exploration to truly unique world's where you bump into random people I'll probably go for it. It can be my chill out game.

I've never been sold on No Man's Sky, but reading about trading and mining resources makes me more optimistic.

What continues to worry me is best captured in this segment of the article: "Sean adds that the way the game is structured is in direct contrast to what we've come to expect from most modern games. Things like defined objectives and linear structures, whether in story or gameplay, are what Sean finds very predictable. So making an open-ended game was the goal from the outset."

I'm all for open-ended gameplay, but I feel strongly that even open-ended games need some type of structure and a set of tangible goalposts to create an enjoyable video game experience. There's a fine line between granting some and too much freedom to the player, between a game with many options and a game without a rudder.

I just hope No Man's Sky isn't the latter.

I hate the look of it. I don't know why we have consoles that allow us to have true HD, realistic games, but developers keep making this "artsy crap". It bugs the hell out of me. At least with Minecraft (PC) you could have shader packs and texture packs to make the world look [more] realistic. I'm just not impressed with Borderlands/Destiny/No Man's Sky/Prince of Persia and their artsy/paper look/feel.

I'm definitely interested in this game so far with what I know about it. I just want a lot more info on it though before I decide on it. So far, I like the fact that you're not being bottle necked into anything. It's up to you what you want to do and how you progress. I also like that there is pvp in space and on the ground.

Not everything needs to be realistic. Bland realistic games bore me.
