Eh? I haven't seen many users recently who expect the Wiiu to make a comeback or something! :/

it will never be a huge seller. the theory of having a bunch of rehashed 3rd party games and no 1st party games doomed it from the start. if they dont announce another console at e3, i think it can survive. people r buying ps4 and xbox 1 based on past history. the nintendo brand just isnt cool anymore. somehow they need to come out with a revolutionary ip that will appeal to gamers.
Hey, they're better than they were before. Nintendo knows, and we know that this is no Wii. People just can let things rest. I haven't seen anyone saying or posting such a thread in the past few days...instigating.
As I can't see into the future, I don't know how the Wii U sales are going to change.
So, for now, I will believe that things can improve a lot for Nintendo.
Who knows what will happen?
Maybe they will buy some new Studios and let them develop some IP's that are attractive to the masses of western gamers.
Maybe Xenoblade Chronicles X will surpass all expectations and boost the sales of the Wii U in Japan by so much, that other japanese developers are going to start to make RPGs for it, because XCX proved that there is a market for them, or it could flop or just do OK (I'll buy it anyway).
The Gamepad could prove to be the ultimate Controller for RPGs, Strategie or Adventure games.
(btw, I really liked it's use in Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut)
As I can't control how things will occur, I'll just let my wallet do the talking and look forward to the games on Wii U and PC that I'm interested in.
In the long run, I don't think that the Wii U will catch up to the Xbone or PS4 this generation, because Nintendo isn't competing with them, because Nintendo can't.
I think that the only way that Nintendo can start competing with Sony and Microsoft is not by buying exclusives from 3rd parties, or convincing the masses of gamers that all they really wanted was Mario, but to create their own and better IP's in the genres that Sony and Microsoft are strong in.
Games like Halo, Gears of War, Uncharted or The Last of Us. Games that will get the Call of Duty players interested in a Nintendo Console, games that are more "realistic".
Once they have these kind of games, and they sell well, 3rd parties will see that there is a market for them on Wii U. Nintendo can't hope for 3rd parties to make that market on their console, that costs too much for them. Nintendo has to create that market for them.
At the same time, Nintendo still needs to create the games their current fans enjoy, with their beloved IPs, because there is a market for those games, and they should'nt give that market up.
In short, let the fans believe what they want. The future isn't set in stone and Nintendo still has cards to play.
Platforms: Wii U, New 3DS, PS4, PC
currently playing:
-Yoshi's Wooly World
-Pokemon X
-Fire Emblem Fates
Zone: Europe (Germany)
if it sells more than the gamecube (wich i think it will) i will be happy.

That is a very well thought out idea. Not only that but 3rd parties need to be able to develop games on NIntendo consoles at the same level that they develop on other consoles. Nintendo's IP and 3rd party IP together is hard to beat. That's why NES-SNES ruled the world at the time. 3rd and 1st parties developed games at the same level on the NES-SNES. The 64 went over their heads, Gamecube had lost crucial exclusives due to the disc size (FFX and Dragon Quest were planned on Gamecube first) on Wii, they barely made a dent because it was Nintendo's game last gen, and now they need to refocus their efforts to be able to please themselves and fans.

Which would mean, that they'd have to have a similar platform to Microsoft's and Sony's, or at least make it very easy and cheap to port games over.
Less cost for the 3rd parties, the more likely it is for them to put their games out on that console. 3rd parties mainly look at the money anyways, and I'd love to have a repeat of the SNES era. (I want a new Secret of Mana thats as good as Secret of Mana ;) )

Exactly. I know NIntendo has a certain style of developing games but I wish they'd keep up with technology. They use to lead the field entirely. From NES-N64 they had the most universally powerful consoles. After that, power didn't become a focus for them. Which I understand, power isn't everthing but it doesn't hurt at all. I'm still waiting for a decent Mana game too. The SNES one, the first one is still my favorite from the series.
