De Blob is really unique and fun.
Metal Slug Anthology is great as well.
A Boy and His Blob is a fun. adventure game.
Ghost Squad is a fun and super cheap, cheesy(and short) on rail shooter.

Haven't played it yet... will tell you whenever I get my hand on it.

If you were waiting for a price drop, that sucks because buying the Wii would be just as expensive as buying a Wii U bundle that was $300 with two games included.(As in, once the price goes down on the Wii U, you will have still spent the same initial 300$ or so due to buying the Wii) But your choice. I am glad Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn is on your list though! That game is phenomenal! |
I don't mind HW price too much.. and would buy Wii anyway for collection purpouses... but being patient also saves money on SW.

I think it would depend on what you are used to as well as how you play games. I haven't played the GC version of Prime & Prime 2 so I can't give specifics but it does control well on the Wii... the interface for switching beams/visors feels a little odd at first, probably because I was used to Corruption where you can't switch beam (upgrades simply stack on top of each other) but otherwise it feels very similar to Corruption, which is arguably the best controlling FPS on Wii. (The Conduit can be customised to such a degree that it is probably the best, but somehow Nintendo seems to get the controls in most of their games to feel perfect without making you customise them) The main thing with using Wii pointer controls versus dual-analogue for shooting games is that you have some way to steady your wrist, and in particular so that your 'at-rest' position has the pointer in the middle of the screen. |
Thanks for the feedback. I am not a fan of the Wii Remote, as I am more comfortable with using the dual analog sticks. Just like the OP, I am trying to catch up on older Nintendo games I have missed (Metroid Prime being one of them).

Hope you enjoy your purchase.
Here's some games I'd recommend that you didn't already list:
- Sin and Punishment: Star Successor
- Monster Hunter Tri
- Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
- Tatsunoko vs Capcom
- Goldeneye 007
- Red Steel 2
- (If you live in PAL or have a region-unlocked Wii) Project Zero 2 Wii Edition

Yeah that was good, though it's main draw is the multiplayer (which probably isn't that great now so long after release)... the single player campaign was ok but just didn't feel the same. I especially missed Sean Bean, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Cumming (Boris) and Izabella Scorupco (Natalya). The new Xenia Onatopp though was suitably crazy and still worked.
