What is the Order 1886?

Overhyped 95 42.79%

It is hyped 40 18.02%

Underhyped 50 22.52%

I don't know anymore 36 16.22%

Total:221

It is a typical exklusive. It gets unjustified praise and unjustified hate. And the usual moaning about both.

It is underhyped. The brainless press it recieves (common for many games so far this gen) is planting bad seeds about the product.

This game will suprise many I feel, but I also feel that many will miss out.

Seriously what is up with gaming journlist this gen. They've been using the same buzz words for almost all games but it just doesn't make much sense. "It's been done before nothing new" - I'm sure it has it's hard to make a completely new experience these days it's not a reason to bash a game. "To linear" - when did linear become bad for every single game out there? I'm not saying all games should be linear but a game being linear does not automatically mean it's bad. RE5 was linear and I really enjoyed that game a lot. One of the few games I enjoyed going through twice.

I don't know man, but it is annoying as all hell.  A time where a game like Titanfall (online only with less content than ANY full release shooter on the market) gets a meta of 86, yet a solid single player FPS that delivers like Wolfenstein only gets a 79 is a time period that can't end soon enough.

I think Wolfenstein is overly praised by a lot of people, I bought the game and did not like the weapons, fond the "stealth" overly simplistic... the dialog and story cringe inducing (man that sex scene was horrible)... I prefered Killzone:SF or even Battlefield 4's SP campaign (I don't care much for MP) ... I can see the attraction for some people, but not everyone.

Before you say well it's "old school" I will say, it does nto feel at all like Doom/Quake or Duke Nukem 3D or even half-life/half-life 2.

As for titanfall, well, that had a ton of hype for sure :-/ but I never played it... to me it seems the press was played like a fiddle and they just parked it a couple of points too high in general, probably because they don't have time to play games over long periods of time, so a title that needs dedication to be mastered will not gain anything for it.

Hype only refer to the amount of excitement for the game..... itself doesn't matter if the game is good or bad.

Since its a February release the game will probably be underhype. Negative preview and demo experience has probably hurt this game sales already. I don't plan on ever owning a PS4 but I do think that The Order 1886 is a game worth exploring and I would be somewhat hype if I was a PS4 owner.

This has happened a lot recently even though the game has recieved positive reactions from players who tried the PSX demo.

It's definitely not overhyped. Then again, if we are comparing it to something like Titanfall... or comparing anything to Titanfall everything would be considered underhyped.

Games cost money to make so I don't think there is anything wrong with publishers hyping as long as it's reasonable and not in your face.

The Order has gotten trailers and DLC bonus videos. That doesn't even qualify as overhype. They should be allowed to advertise it.

In general i say it getting bashed and hated on more than being hyped.

It has a fair amount of hype. It would easily by more hyped if it wasn't for those pesky haters that try to downplay it for repetitive and boring gameplay.

And also people are complaining about the amount of footage we've received. But that second 0:18 is more than enough instead of giving away the whole scene. I don't want to know what is going to happen.

Between constant pushing from Sony and the media at large deciding it's garbage long before playing it, this is a mystery to me. It'll sell well despite the linear = bad narrative in media coverage, but the hype level is super unclear.

BTW, I can't imagine where gaming would be today if it had to deal with the "do something new or GTFO" attitude back in the NES / SNES days. Cry about first / third person shooters all you want, like 80% of all games back then were sidescrolling platformers (or had platforming elements).
