Yeah, so many collector's items are limited to just one per customer. It's nothing new. Gamestop's only error was not putting the limit in place before accepting pre-orders, because now those who did want to scalp aren't going to get any (if their orders are just cancelled and not downgraded) so I can understand why some would be pissed. But then again, they probably deserve it so I won't pity them.

It's up to Gamestop to decide the details of how they're selling their stuff. I think it's comparable to internet forums setting their own rules that could be interpreted to contradict freedom of speech. For example, on some forums all discussion about drugs is entirely forbidden.

That said, as a consumer I fully support this decision.

Many special deals of products, tickets or limited editions restrict purchases to 1 or 2 all the time. it isn't bullshit, it is about trying to be fair to the largest possible audience given the numbers available, these bundles are not created so a select few can buy them all up and onsell them for inflated margins. 2 per customer is actually one of the more generous limited edition bundling restrictions.

That is a very pro-average-consumor move for GameStop of all people to do. The hording must have been way out of control for them to do that. But good on them.
