Forums - Gaming - What will be the bombs of the year?

Critical Bombs
1, Whatever Assassin's Creed game gets released (Ubisoft isn't doing so hot right now.)
2. The Order (It doesn't look like it will live up to the hype, like other "next gen" titles)
3. Project Cars (Racing games just don't do as well as they used to)

Sales Bombs
1. Scalebound (This depends on whether MS markets this to the West or Japan.)
2. Xenoblade X (Because Wii U)
3. Rise of the Tomb Raider (If it releases in Uncharted's shadow)

Around the Network

I'd say Splatoon.

Mario Party 10 because it looks so boring!

Bring back Hudson and let's make classic Mario Party games again!

are they still around? but if they are then i yes also throw in not just Hudson but also online for Mario Party 11 and you get a day 1 purchase right here.

Nope, they closed recently T.T The idea of a Mario Party Online sounds cool though.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

flops. I'd have to go with Scalebound as the safe choice. Platinum Games have a sales curse. Great games, mediocre as hell sales

So what games will bomb hard in your opinion?

I say Mario Party 10 and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Honestly +1

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

I will put my expectations for Xenoblade X in its first week Japan as low as 50K copies.

Tagged I won't say shit because unexpected things can happen.

Proud to be a Californian.

I hope Scalebound (if it drops this year) does great. Halo 5 will sell on a tremendous scale as usual.

I want to say the games that I feel will do "bomb" will be be Doom, Homefront, and Dyling Light. I hope Until Dawn will be good, but I'm kind of having doubts about it.

Dying Light seems like a fit for a possible bomba.  Even though the game looks very interesting to me.

The term "bomb" in reference to video games is connoted negative? Huh.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bomb

note: it's positive when used with the "the" modifier (read the definition)

"it's
the bomb" = it's excellent / the best
"a bomb" = a failure
"the bombs" = the failures

How about... flop.  :|

Hunting Season is done...

im gonna go with fable legends. i even see the most hardcore xbox fans forgetting this game even exists. and honestly, it looked bad at E3. (just an opinion of a non RPG fan).

i can see until dawn under performing. Dead Island 2 will certainly sell less than the first (which did a massive 5 million).

i think project cars will do bad too. racing games are on a decline.
