Well that was quicker than I thought. But honestly I was surprised to see them put the price back up to $399 in the first place.. This should probably ensure Xb one outsells PS4 on a monthly (NPD) basis in the USA for most of the year. If it doesn't...

MS has obviously recognised that consumers perceive that Xb one is just not as good a machine as PS4, and thus Xb one needs to be at a lower price point. Even though the PR says USA, I wonder if other markets will get an official price cut soon. It's already officially cheaper in the UK right, 325 vs 299?

This is pretty obvious. Stores have return policies that fall right in this category of getting money back. And I don't think 1 week would make them obselete.

Nop, UK price point is about 320-230(not exactly sure).

300 is retailer discount, just like ps4 and then XBO were 280 2 weeks ago on Amazon UK for a while. UK market is quite competitive.

Not in Canada =(. Lots of stores have shitty return policies here or they will know that you're going to try and return it to buy it back to 50$ less so some won't let you. It varies depending on where you live.

As I said in the thread about it going back up to $400, it kills the momentum they gained in November and December.

It seems Microsoft agrees and now dropped the price again so quickly since they don't want to lose all that traction they gained.
