Both are coming out in May, and Nintendo will doubtedlessly want to sell Splatoon to fans of its existing big multiplayer titles. Does it not make sense then, to include a Splatoon track in the next wave of Mario Kart 8 DLC? It could be an ideal way to introduce fans of Nintendo multiplayer to their new IP, having them race around the city of Splatoon, maybe even through the centre of one of the Squidling's turf wars.

So far we know very little about the DLC, except that there's going to be at least 1 animal crossing track (if we know more, let me know). The first pack included tracks from Zelda, F Zero and Excite Bike, so the fact that it's Animal Crossing themed doesn't indicate that it will ALL be AC related. And obviously the designers over at Nintendo working on the DLC will have access to plenty about Splatoon.

So what does everyone else think? Plausible?

Not really sure it can happen.
There doesn't seem to be anything peculiar or memorable in the world of Splatoon that can be reproduced in a MK track. Unless there's something really special we haven't seen.

At best, i'd say a track based around Splatoon's hub world.

Plausible, sure. I was hoping for tracks in the style of the new Kirby and Yoshi games, utilising the claymation and fabric styles to make a couple of really different tracks.

Splatoon mechanic in MK8, paint as much of the track as you can: puddles of paint that leave tyre tracks, paint bombs splattered around, blue shell of paint ^^

Well there is nothing really memorable about Peach and Daisy's  bakery/choclate shop because it didnt exist before MK8 and yet we have a nice looking memorable course in MK8 called sweet sweet canyon.

They can easily make a course out of splatoon if they wanted.

I don't think there will be any more MK8 DLC, sadly. They only made room for 2 cups each for the current 2 DLC packs.

I hope I'm proved wrong, though. A Splatoon based pack would be amazing.

I'm talking about a single Splatoon track in the Animal Crossing DLC pack. Not a 3rd Splatoon focussed DLC.

I'm sure he means a new battle mode, with paint!

At least that is what my previous post suggests :D

True.

But you can't deny there's a deep, old, connection between Peach and cakes! :D

That would be pretty awesome, but I don't see it happening.
