Forums - Gaming - How long would you like this gen to last?

5 years or so.

Around the Network

I would like to see this gen end in 2020 (for PS4 and Xone and two years/3 years earlier for the Wii U)

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

8 years.

6 years.

They're all out of date hardware wise, and they're behind every other media in pretty much everything so the sooner the better.

For the systems I do own.

Wii U until 2017
Xbox One - 2018
3DS - 2016

NNID: MagicalLight

FC: 4124 - 5888 - 4804

5-6 years considering the relative specs for ps4 vs ps3 and x1 vs 360 launch

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

2018 seems good to me.

5 years. PS5 in 2018.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

If a new gen means another year or two of awful launches, game droughts, another increase in budgets, more broken games, and even more pressure to implement DLC/DRM/mocrotransactions etc., I'm fine with sitting on this gen for as loooong as possible. I have seen the future, and it is not pretty.

Ten years? Why not?
