Points sound a bit subjective to me, but a few are less so, but for example the story would've put even more strain on Sakurai, plus he's already given us so much content in the game.

So much content?  Brawl literally had way more content.  And Brawl was on a 7 GB Wii CD from 7 years ago.   So by adding very few characters, removing quite a few and filling the rest of the roster with clones and removing story mode it has a lot of content?

Sakurai is very lazy if you ask me.

Yeah, making TWO Smash games, making hundreds of trophies, programming 51 characters, making tonnes of maps, all those new boss fights, pushing the Wii U to do 1080p 60fps, putting so much detail in his game, adding two characters into a game even if it is a huge task and putting tonnes of items in the game is definitely lazy.

To be fair Sakurai isnt the only person developing the game. There's a massive team of programmers and coders making the game. Do you really think he does all that by himself?

Yeah of course, If a man every does all that by himself I'll be surprised :P But he is the director of the whole series, which as you probably know, take A LOT of effort, time and skill.

1. I think the roster is just as good as any other. some are not great but you could say that for any of the games.
3. What were they supposed to add? its a fighting game. What did the others prior add?
5. Wolf was just another clone of Fox why is he any worse than Dr. Mario? Cause you like him? really subjective.
9. I think the levels are great especially the new star fox one
10 subspace emmirsary is terrible ive yet to have anyone tell me why its good.

The fact that the online is actually funtioning puts it ahead of Brawl IMHO

1.)  lol it's not.  Look at Tekken, the rooster gets update and revamped every game more than Smash 4 does by a long shot.

3.) Revamp characters? Add new menchanics instead removing them so causal can enjoy it better?

5.) Lol at saying Wolf was a clone, he literally had the same final smash and similar down b, other than that he had nothing in common with Fox.  As for Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina who are pretty much carbon copies with little different about them

9.)  Seriously?  So little bit of the levels are on par with Brawl and theyre so little bit of them.

10.) It's not the best, but they could have dont a  better campaign mode than just Smash Tour or Classic.

Functioning Online is 2015 is a plus? Not sure if srs.

Tekken is also released more frequently for one, and two they rarely take out characters.

what did they take out? What was removed so casuals could enjoy the game more? This might sound selfish, but if they removed stuff that makes it harded for casuals to play, im all for that. The game is already plenty casul friendly.

Dark pit has different moved and a different final smash, did you even use that chacracter he is far more orginal than Wolf was to Fox

4 has less levels than brawl? i doubt that. unless you talking 3ds version but even then.

yes they could have done something better. But you could say the same for Subspace. IMHO i rather them not have it i there wasting tiem and takiing up space than habe it in the game, especially as it was used to unlock characters. ugh

Considering that Brawl online didnt work AT ALL, yeah it is a plus.

Yes as Tekken is released more often, than wouldn't that be a reason for the rooster to change less?  Smash had a full 7 years to get the rooster prepared and they delivered with meh results.

Alot of the mechanics in Melee were gone, and some in Brawl like gliding.
Lol at bolded. not sure if srs.  Wolf literally has no smash attack or tilt in common with Fox, and while their B moves are similar they are still different.

Dark Pit has pretty much just Zelda/Shiek's smash, and his side B is pretty much the same thing beside they fly in different Directions.  His bow is slightly different, but work pretty much the same.   All his core attacks are the exact same.

And yes the game has less new stages than brawl.

And like I said before, functioning online in 2015 is not a plus.  Its nintendo fans that keep them from progressing their games, and will ultimately lead them to not make consoles anymore due to looses in money

No wonder Sakurai feels the way he does, with feedback like this.

So much has been added to the game, and he has listened to the fans and brought back the likes of Dr. Mario, and Mewtwo is on the way.

For Fun and For Glory allows people to find like-minded opponents to battle online against, and the temporary banning feature enforces that. The number of controllers supported is unprecedented - you can't fault the attempts to accommodate as many preferences as possible.

If one game has really made use of the Gamepad, it's SSB4 - the stagebuilder allows for some great creativity. The screenshots you can take no longer need a converter to display on your PC, and you can get creative with those on the Gamepad, too. The Mii fighters and customisable features brings a new element to the game, and of course, there's Amiibo.

You can't please everyone all of the time. Sure, I miss SSE, I miss Snake, Palutena's Guidance doesn't work as well as the codecs in my opinion, and don't care for the boardgame element. But there's plenty of new stuff that interests me, and the online experience is so much better than Brawl.

How anybody can say this is just a lazy rehash of a game made 6 years ago is beyond me, unless they've yet to explore all the new features that are there.

It's not a complete rehash, but it's overall a weak sequel of a game made 6 years prior.  If you guys think that it isn't is beyond me

@ bolded - in your opinion. And at least you had the decency to state that it is your opinion in your initial post. If SSB4 dropped my two mains, I'd probably be pissed enough to post a similar rant.

@ bolded: Two games were developed in tandem. Between them, they have something like 75 stages, 50 of them new, and 27 of those new stages being Wii U. Your point that the Wii U version has fewer new stages than Brawl, while accurate, is weak, considering that Brawl's 31 new stages is only 4 more than Wii U, and that there are omega versions and 8 player versions of many of the Wii U stages, both old and new.

Please explain how functioning online is not better than non-functioning online?

@ the underlined: So how have the fans kept them from progressing their games?

@ bolded: Really? They have added 14 newcomers (15 including the Mii fighters) and dropped 3 from Brawl. (Not including switching the Pokemon trainer with Charizard).

@ underlined: Who, of the new characters, do you consider to be clones?

@ italic: They may have removed story mode, but have you taken into consideration all the new features in Smash for Wii U, or the various new developments and new content that has appeared since you first created this thread?

Any statement that Sakurai has been lazy will need better reasons to back it up than the ones you've given.

1.  Weak Roster:  I know this is kind of subjective but I think almost everyone thought the roster was decent at best.  Newcomers like Shulk and Megaman actually add to the game, and gives games like Xenoblade much needed notoriety.    While characters like Bowser Jr. and PacMan just don’t play as well, and don’t add very much like the new guys did in Brawl.

The roster has been saved and your complaint is now invalid because we can now call upon the power of the mighty LUCAS!

Okay, Snake, Lucas, Wolf, Parts of the Pokemon trainer, and Ice Climbers.

Lucina and Dark Pit, Dr. Mario are complete clones.

Also I acknowlege that they're fixing it slowly, but having to pay for more Characters when the original rooster isnt even optimal is a cok slap by nintendo.   I don't know what work he's doing, as he might be making the game with a very small team, but honestly given all nintendo's assets I think they could have made a much better game than the one who have on Wii U right now, was likely rushed and it shows in the game content and quality.
