Yeah, but they are a pain to install

How so?  You plug them in, download, and install drivers.  Same as Nvidia.

The llocking of the of the CPU

I ended up bending one of the pins when I was installing it

You know this is about graphics cards right?

LOL thank you.

i still preffer Nvidia for pc gaming, a lot of games like older games have no vsync. Nvidia allows you to remove tearing in every game. Just one of many examples.

Wait, is your avatar from The Last Remnant?

Yes

I thought that was Emma Honeywell, just wasn't sure. Good taste man.

It's the crippling low memory bandwidth of all Nvidia cards that they refuse upgrade.

Other than that, who has the "better" card is up to people's preferences and wallets. My wallet currently says that the 980 is the best card on the market.

You can manually apply V-sync in old games with AMD as well.  They also had the supersampling thing forever ago.

Yes did they fixed it ? in nvidia you can select every game you want set how it should run, can you do that with amd now or how does it work?

Big win for amd. All they need now is to get into the next Nintendo console.

Of course you can.  Every game comes with an auto-setting option and AMD also has Rapr for the Nvidia Experience stuff.  There was nothing to fix though, you could always do it.

That doesn't explain the 580 getting weaker than the 6970.  Although I suppose that's from the other half of the problem:  Almost never enough Video RAM.

I honestly think that AMD has done a fantastic job with drivers in the past 6 months. I have noticed some huge gains in certain games. I'm so happy their driver support has improved. That being said I might jump to the Nvidia side this time if AMD's new cards are far away.

I currently use Nvidia for my WOW machine and AMD for everything else right now.

Especially with their omega drivers ...
