It's not a good option though. Adding a charger shouldn't increase the price. So it went from 200$ 3DS + free charger, to 200$ 3DS + 10$ for the charger. That's not a really good option for people who don't have chargers now is it? For people who already have chargers is it really a nightmare to have an extra charger? I have 3 phone chargers because they all came free with the phones I bought and I'm not complaining. I just put a charger in my living room one in my bed room and one in my car. So yeah if it really did decrease the cost of the bundle (like not including a game for example) then sure they are giving you options. This however is not a case of giving more options.

Well, DSi, DS lite had the Charger included including GB Advance SP and Previous Nintendo handled. I have 3DS but i want two charger because both handled are rechargeable and " should" be included. If i want to sell my old 3DS i need them both. You have to think not for your self but consumer right on general.

The xbox-example is hilarious. I guess it could make sense with the 360, since all the RRoD-consoles would leave you with a buch of extra stuff, but otherwise, comparing buying a home console with very few revisions and possibly different power needs to a handheld with like, a hundred revisions? Come on guys. Thats really weak.

About the charger... Meh. I have a friend with 5 different DS's. The 3ds was my first. Even in my case, I won't be buying the charger. So I don't care. >.>

One thing that kinda bothers me though is that Gamestop will shout at you "Buy a charger, buy a charger!" and a lot of moms and dads will buy unnecessary chargers. I'd never blame Nintendo for that though, stupid mainstream is to blame. No matter how angry people get at forums, companies get away with everything because the average consumer doesn't know any better and doesn't care enough to actually learn things about their purchases.

Choice however is always good. Calm down people, its not that big of a deal

now youll have families next holiday buy them without noticing it doesnt have a charger

and their children will be upset since they cant charge when it dies

Manufacture of the charger isn't free though.

Honestly, this is pretty stupid and may be a bit of a turn off to newer fans wanting to buy the system. I have a charger so I'm fine but I know that this may be a problem for some people.

It costs a negligible amount if it were included in the package. Selling it seperately increases the price because of packaging, shipping, retail cut and tax. If it were included in the bundle you wouldn't have these extra costs.
