Biggest selling game of 2007 for each console:

Wii - Super Mario Galaxy

PS3 - Grand Theft Auto IV

360 - Halo 3

DS - Pokemon Pearl/Diamond

PSP - Monster Hunter Portable 2 OR Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core

IMO, theres no way SMG or SSBB will sell over 2m the entire year, unless both or either release @ around October. They are 2 games that'll sell well throughout the better half of next year. Top games in 2007: Halo 3 - 4.18m Copies if released Nov 1st. 5.7m if released early or mid Sept. w/ price drop on system Pokemon D/P - 3.45m Copies GTAIV 3 - 3.35m Copies sold for both consoles, 2.2m 360, 1m PS3. Strong sales throughout next year, 500k a month for awhile, if not more. (remember GTA:SA only sold around 1.5m a month, but ended up with 4 consecutive million seller months) Super Smash Brothers - 1.6m if released in Mid-November, selling well in 2008 Super Mario Galaxy - 900k if released Mid-December, selling well in 2008.

Guys you forgot one thing Halo 2 sold 2.5 million on the first day. So I think Halo 3 will sell probably at least 4 million the first weak.

Well I think we can discuss if it's a game or not, but you really have to accept that it is a game.

For consoles, and without counting Wii Sports, it'll be a close race between Mario, GTA and Halo. Favourite is probably Halo because it will start very strong due to the fact that most of the people that'll get it are hard core gamers.

But I predict that SMG will sell the most copies of those three games over it's lifetime because I expect it to sell as much as SM64 did (almost 12m)

Yes Wii Sports is a game. There is a valid argument on whether to count its sales (except in Japan), but it's a game. I am really softcore. Wii Sports is my favourite game to date, and (imho) a game of historical importance.

Wii Sports is indisuptably a game...it's ridiculous to suggest that it isn't. The argument is whether or not to count it, because it came packaged with the Wii. Sometimes I wish it didn't, because I'd bet it would still be a top seller anyway, but since it comes with the Wii, a lot of people don't want to count it among top-sellers, so we won't for sake of argument.

With Halo 3's release date set for September 25th in NA and September 26th for Europe, the scales are tipping in their favor. I would guess a price cut early November for the 360. This would spike hardware sales, and give GTAIV and Halo 3 an extra extra push into the holiday season. If I was Nintendo, I would remove Wii Sports as a pack-in and sell the Wii for 200. If I was Sony ..... I'd try my damnest to make MGS4 be released before the end of the year.
